Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about writing, mailing, privacy, and facility rules.
Are the letters written by hand?
WriteBack prints your approved message in a handwritten-style font on quality paper. We do not describe it as individually handwritten by a person.
Do I have to use AI writing help?
No. Writing assistance is optional. You can write and edit the entire message yourself, and you approve every word before payment.
When will my letter be mailed?
WriteBack schedules mail runs at approximately 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Orders completed too close to a run may move to the next one. Holidays, address questions, content review, or unexpected volume may affect processing.
Where is WriteBack launching first?
WriteBack is beginning with letters addressed to Florida correctional facilities so the service can build careful facility knowledge before expanding.
Can WriteBack guarantee delivery?
No. Postal transit and correctional-facility inspection are outside our control. Facilities may delay, copy, return, or reject correspondence under their own rules.
What should I verify before sending?
For Florida state prisons, confirm the recipient’s full committed name and DC number, then verify the current centralized routine-mail instructions. County jails, federal facilities, and legal mail use different routes.
How are photos prepared?
WriteBack prints each uploaded personal image in full color on its own smooth, letter-size page directly behind the letter. Facility rules still control acceptance.
Will the recipient see the photo in color?
Not necessarily. Florida routine mail is scanned for electronic delivery and may be printed for people without tablet or kiosk access. FDC does not promise color reproduction, so the recipient may see a black-and-white or otherwise altered copy.
Is my letter private?
WriteBack limits access to information needed to provide the service, but correctional staff may open, inspect, read, or copy incoming general correspondence.
What happens if WriteBack makes an error?
Use the support channel connected to your account or order. Printing and addressing errors caused by WriteBack will be reviewed and made right when appropriate.
